Autumn Term 1 (7th September 2020)
Welcome back and hello to our new Nursery children!
We hope you all had a lovely Summer (although very different to normal). Nursery has re opened and children are all settling in really well. Thank you to everybody for all your cooperation with everything regarding Covid and our new policies and procedures. The children have adapted well to our routine and are extremely good at washing their hands! They are making new friends and enjoying playing with all the toys in Nursery indoors and outdoors. Over the next few weeks I will be observing your child and keeping a record on their progress. If you would like to look at any of their work, just ask a member of staff if you can take a look at their folder. This will have to be in the playground at drop off or pick up time.
This term our topic is 'All about me'. We will be learning about ourselves and our families and looking at how to keep clean and healthy. We will be reading 'Goldilocks and the three bears', 'The three little pigs' and 'Rosie's walk'. We will be focusing on numbers to 3 in Numeracy. This may sound too easy for your child, but we strip numeracy back to its basics and make sure pupils understand '3' and can show us 3 objects or 3 fingers. Often children will recite numbers to 10 but don't understand what it means.
Take a look at the photos below of the children settling into Nursery
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns about your child.

Hi there Nursery. I hope you are all well and enjoying spending time at home with your families during this difficult time! Please find below a document with lots of different ideas for activities you can be doing at home with an adult. Please don't worry about how much 'work' you are doing with Nursery children, just enjoy playing with them and exploring using what you can. I will keep adding some phonics and Maths activities but keep playing games such as 'i spy', counting simple objects around the house and using lots of language with them to encourage them to talk as much as possible. Please read the documents below with ideas for Maths and Literacy.
